It's safe to say that Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular anime out today. If you aren't familiar with it, Jujutsu Kaisen is based on Gege Akutami's manga series of the same name. The story revolves around a student named Yuuji Itadori. Yuji who ends up swallowing a cursed finger that turned him into the vessel of the King of Curses Sukuna, is thrust into the world of curses and sorcery. Given his unique situation, Yuji ends up enrolling in Tokyo Jujutsu High, so he can learn how to make use of his new abilities.

Yuji Itadori has come a long way since the show started back in 2020. There have been a slew of great episodes throughout the anime's two-season run. With Season 2 well underway, now is a good time to take a look back at the anime's best episodes so far. Here are our picks for the ten best Jujutsu Kaisen episodes.
10 Ryomen Sukuna (Season 1, Episode 1)
The show's debut episode highlights why Yuji is such a great protagonist. Despite being scared and essentially being powerless, Yuji doesn't hesitate to charge toward danger in order to save his friends. So much so that he even willingly ingests a cursed object just because he believed it would help him defend people from cursed spirits.

9 Curse Womb Must Die (Season 1, Episode 4)
Jujutsu Kaisen establishes what kind of show it is early on with episodes like Curse Womb Must Die. The first years are deployed on their first mission wherein they're tasked to rescue several individuals from a detention center that's been taken over by a special grade cursed spirit.
It becomes fairly clear that the first years are out of their league as the cursed spirit overpowers them. In fact, if Sukuna had not come out then it would be very unlikely that any of the first years would have survived this encounter.
8 For Myself (Season 1, Episode 2)

Despite being an early episode, For Myself is one of the best episodes of the series. In this episode, we get to see Gojo face off with Sukuna for the first time. And while Sukuna was evidently lacking in power, it's still impressive how effortlessly Gojo deals with him.
7 To You, Someday (Season 1, Episode 12)
This episode is the first that ever forces Yuji to reexamine his morals. Despite claiming to never take a life, Yuji is forced into a tough situation after Mahito mutates Junpei and turns him into a grotesque creature. Until now, audiences don't really see Yuji as anything more than a happy-go-lucky shonen protagonist. However, everything changes after this episode as Yuji begins to understand that the life of a Jujutsu sorcerer is going to be more difficult than he initially thought.

6 Black Flash (Season 1, Episode 19)
While the Goodwill Event was originally supposed to be a trial to gauge young Jujutsu sorcerers, things take a turn for the worse when special-grade cursed spirits infiltrate the event. Yuji and Todo manage to fend the cursed spirits off. During the fight, Yuji even managed to figure out Black Flash.
Black Flash is an incredibly technical ability that only a handful of people have mastered. It is a distortion in space that is created when Cursed Energy is applied in 1 millionth of a second of a strike. By doing this, the power of the attack is amplified two-fold.
5 Assault (Season 1, Episode 7)
When presumed to be dead, Yuji receives private training from Gojo himself. And while his training mostly involved cursed energy exercises, Gojo isn't opposed to something a little more hands-on. When Jogo ambushes Gojo, the Jujutsu sorcerer realizes this would be the perfect time to teach Yuji about Domain Expansions. In the middle of the fight, Gojo manages to grab Yuji and bring him to where he and Jogo are fighting.
Jogo, insulted that Gojo would have the gall to leave in the middle of the fight, opts to go all out by Domain Expansion. Gojo explains to Yuji that Domain Expansions are advanced techniques that manifest a user's Innate Domain, turning it into a physical space that traps others and improves the user's cursed techniques, as well as making them unavoidable.

He then easily counters Jogo's Domain Expansion with his own. This episode is great because it shows audiences how strong Gojo really is. To add to this, this is also one of the most visually stunning sequences in the show so far and really highlights how well done the animation for the series is.
4 The Origin of Obedience - 2 (Season 1, Episode 23)
Despite being a talented Jujutsu sorcerer, Megumi often finds himself trailing behind Yuji when it comes to overall strength. A lot of this stems from Megumi's insistence on trying to make everything perfect. Because of this, he rarely ever tries to push himself beyond his limits. However, this all changes when Megumi is forced to push through his own limits and reveal his incomplete Domain Expansion in order to deal with the cursed spirits.

3 Nonstandard (Season 1, Episode 20)
When Hanami uses his Domain Expansion, it puts Yuji and his friends in a rather tricky spot. Despite being able to go toe-to-toe with the special-grade cursed spirits, Yuji and his allies are clearly at their limit. This is when Gojo shows up and decides to combine, Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red together, resulting in Hollow Technique: Purple.

2 The Shibuya Incident - Gate, Open (Season 2, Episode 9)
Getting Gojo under control is easier said than done. This is made evidently clear in the ninth episode of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. As the cursed spirits do everything in their power to keep Gojo in check, Gojo pretty much brushes them all off. To help even the odds, they try and lure Gojo to a spot with many civilians so that Gojo is forced to hold back. However, even this doesn't work out as Gojo manages to use his cursed technique precisely in order to avoid any civilian casualties.

We hardly ever see Gojo struggle in the series. This is why this episode places so highly when it comes to the show's best episodes. Not only do we get to see a younger version of Gojo but we also get to watch him go head-to-head with a foe that seems to have the edge over the self-proclaimed strongest sorcerer. Aside from the amazing animations, the episode is great as it helps expand the world of Jujutsu Kaisen by introducing characters that are on the same level as Gojo.
